Abstract

Learning a foreign language refers to the abilities to communicate with the language meaningfully and successfully. It can be integrated either by listening-speaking as beginning level or by reading-writing as advanced one. Being the first receptive skill for human, listening is considered the most fundamental one for learners because it helps trigger another language skill - speaking. Having a normal development, infants listen continuously and repeatedly to parents' talk for some periods of time, and gradually speak out word by word, initiation of basic communication. The same process happens to learners of foreign languages if they practice the skill attentively. The objectives of this article which was composed from my direct experience are to introduce listening resources and a listening format which can be utilized simply, conveniently, economically, and suitably for the 21st century learners.
